A Swastika was briefly painted on a boulder in front of Orono High School on Friday, according to an email to parents and staff from the district superintendent. Last Friday night, Orono Schools district administrators were made aware of an incident at Orono High School in which a Swastika was painted on the rock in front of the school. The rock was repainted within minutes of the incident, Superintendent Karen Orcutt said in the May 10 email. We took this news extremely seriously and took immediate action, Orcutt added. We are deeply saddened by this event and the pain it is causing our students and staff.
