For theot been out summer, but everyone generally took the last week of august off. An energy bill and there was a sense of being back to business. We were on the front end of a procession. It was a clear, beautiful day. I remember being so happy to be working at the white house. Relative to the energy issue, my plans for the day were to meet with the labor leader, the supporting the energy plan. It was a job creator. That is what i had planned for that day. Bob how have they changed . Steve two things. They have become more crowded. We have added, we have squeezed more tables into the same ballroom. And it has gotten a lot more hollywood and celebrities than it used to. Always had them, but it has gotten a lot more. Those are the two biggest changes. Bob what about the length of the president s speeches . The speeches we will show in a few minutes we start with Ronald Reagan, he goes about eight minutes. We end this program with george w. Bush. He goes about 20 minutes. Clearly, the speeches are getting longer by the president s. What do you account for that . Steve age.
