Enchanted Florist of South Lake Tahoe is donating five percent of all Mother s Day sales from May 7-9 to the nonprofit that empowers children while building their leadership skills and self-esteem through horses. “We are proud to have a local business help support this much-needed program,” said Laura Maffitt, a volunteer at Between Horses and Humans. “Words cannot describe how the impact of this program has made a difference in so many young lives. Between Horses and Humans assists local youth with social, personal, and emotional issues by providing a place to learn leadership and life skills through horsemanship. The one-of-a-kind program helps children to become more confident, developing a belief in themselves and their decisions, and glowing with a sense of accomplishment.
