A GREENOCK nursing home is hoping to spread some festive cheer by launching a Christmas card competition for local children. Residents at Balclutha Court were devastated at not being able to have children in the home this festive season for carol singing. In a bid to keep their links with the local community, staff came up with the idea of the competition and they hope young people aged 12 and under will get involved. Karen Dillon, activities co-ordinator for the 79 residents at the home, said: We wanted to reach out to the community as its been strange for the residents this year.
