Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Special to the State Gazette Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) has announced plans to return to in-person instruction for the upcoming fall semester with classes beginning Aug. 23. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, DSCC managed to stay open to its students by providing them with a flexible instructional model,” stated Dr. Karen Bowyer, president of DSCC. “Our students persevered and our faculty and staff were diligent in making sure they had what they needed to continue their education. We look forward to bringing faculty and students back this fall to a more normal and traditional college experience.” Students will be able to choose from a modified flexible instructional model that will include in-person classes, a combination of either online instruction or Zoom teleconferencing and in-person instruction, or online instruction using eLearn.

(WMC) - A local community college is giving back to students in need of food. Students at Dyersburg State Community College were provided with food during several drive-thru distribution events during the semester. Donations from faculty and staff of the community college, along with members of the community, made the events possible. “Our students have been faced with many challenges this year including the need for basic necessities such as food. We have made it a priority to make sure that no student goes hungry and that food insecurities are not a barrier to the success of our students.”
