The Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) issued the statement amid claims made by the group, Karapatan Caraga, on Sept. 3 saying that charges against Hijos were false. PRO-13 said Hijos is the fourth most-wanted NPA rebel in the Caraga, who has standing arrest warrants issued by local courts. It said it is duty-bound to serve lawful court orders to anyone, including Hijos, who is wanted by the law for murder and serious illegal detention charges. Hijos was arrested by the intelligence operatives of PRO-13 on Aug. 30 in Barangay Kinabjangan in Nasipit town, Agusan del Norte province.
