Amazon has announced an initial investment of $3 million in nature-based projects in India as part of its $15 million fund for such projects in the Asia Pacific region. The first project will involve working with the Centre for Wildlife Studies to support communities and conservation efforts in the Western Ghats. Amazon will provide $1 million to establish the "Wild Carbon" program, which aims to support 10,000 farmers in planting and maintaining one million fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal trees.
