Firework sales open Wednesday, legal discharge on Thursday
The legal discharge of fireworks starts Thursday morning.
As has been the law since 2014, only “safe and sane” fireworks are allowed, and they can only be discharged between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily, July 1 through 4.
“Safe and sane” are defined as fireworks that do not fly or explode more than 6 feet in any direction. That means items such as fountains, sparklers and other novelty fireworks that don t travel, as well as firecrackers.
Banned are any aerial fireworks, which include such items as roman candles, all rockets and flying spinners.
