The local carnage continues this morning.
KANSAS CITY COUNTS THREE HOMICIDES IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!!
Police seem to be working at a frantic pace to keep up with violence. This incident makes for three death investigations in the span of 10 hours.
UNOFFICIALLY, this is the 55th homicide so far this year compared to 53 at this time laster year and amid KCMO s record breaking homicide count.

This morning just before 6am, officers were dispatched to meet the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department in the 8100 block of Indiana in regard to a car fire. Upon arrival, officers were advised by KCFD there was a deceased victim inside the vehicle. Our homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene. They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses in the area. This is currently being investigated as a suspicious death as we do not kn
Update, Thursday, Jan. 14 at 8:30 a.m. – The victim has been identified as Keith Lars, a 36-year-old Black male.
At approximately 12:30 Wednesday afternoon Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of Gladstone Boulevard and Thompson Avenue on a shooting call.
Upon arrival no victim was located; however, a crime scene was established at that location.
A short time later Kansas City Missouri Fire Department EMS personnel on a separate call were flagged down near Admiral Boulevard and Lydia Avenue by a citizen who told them that someone in their vehicle had been shot.
KCFD had been at the location on an unrelated medical call and began immediately rendering aid to the shooting victim from the vehicle. Additional officers responded to Admiral and Virginia at that time.
