Hours after Kangana Ranaut s Twitter account was suspended over hateful content, the Bollywood actress started facing heat from her peers in the industry.
On Tuesday morning, the 34-year-old actor s account (@KanganaTeam) was permanently suspended by Twitter India for repeatedly violating rules and spreading hateful conduct and abusive behaviour . While the Twitter spokesperson didn t specify the tweet(s) that triggered the action, the micro-blogging site suspended her account right after she shared a video on the situation in West Bengal.
Ranaut, who is known for her often inflammatory tweets, had posted several messages following the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress win over the BJP in West Bengal and incidents of post-poll violence. Calling for President s Rule in the state, she also blamed Banerjee for the violence and called her unpublishable names.
The actress also shared several Stories on the photo-sharing platform to share her reaction to Twitter s move. In a two-part Insta Story, Ranaut claimed that multiple FIRs were filed under her name in Bengal. This is the secular India they want to sell you where Hindu s and their voices are getting butchered, she wrote.
In an official statement to
ANI, Ranaut said, Twitter has only proved my point they are Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do, fortunately, I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice including my own art in the form of cinema but my heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, enslaved and censored for thousands of years and still there is no end to the suffering.
