For North Korean-born Kang Ji-hyun, her chance sighting of a foreign tourist at Mount Paektu at the age of 15 forever changed her life.
What started out as a routine family trip to the mountain became her first time spotting an actual foreigner outside the television screens and textbooks. What caught her eyes wasn t his height or his unkempt beard ― but his ripped jeans.
He must be a beggar, she immediately thought to herself, asking her father why in the world a homeless person would be walking around Mount Paektu. Her father, after some thought, told her that the tourist s clothing must be a sign not of his status but rather his choice of style.

South Korean singer Soyou will be making her comeback this March with support from Lee Hyori and Babylon onboard the project.
According to a March 3 statement from Starship Entertainment, Soyou s talent management agency, Soyou will be making her comeback with a track composed by singer-songwriter and rapper Babylon and the lyrics written by Lee Hyori herself.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting every update ever since Soyou made a surprise announcement on her Instagram account, March 2. In her IG post, Soyou posted a simple image of what appears like a night sky with the words Soyou/ Coming Soon/ 2021.03.11. 6 PM.

Kang Ji-Hyun, popularly known as Sistar s Soyou, is ready to bring the Christmas cheer with her carol cover collaboration with other artists from her record label, Starship Entertainment.
In her December 16 vlog, titled Starship Planet 2020 Carol. All the Best Guests We ve Got, the Korean singer introduced her fans to other talents from the Starship Entertainment camp. Her short vlog first introduced the only crossover group in the talent management label, Duetto, which is composed of classical tenors Yoo Seulgi and Baek Intae. The tenors introduced themselves with a vocalization that shocked Soyou.
Soyou also tried singing her name in the same style and, while she succeeds, cuts her attempt with a burst of laughter.
