Cases at Crown Court A PLEA and directions hearing for two women accused of assisting the men jailed for the murder of Aaron Pill is the latest victim of the coronavirus pandemic. Brea Coggin, aged 22 of Avalon Close, Mylor Bridge, and Georgia Potter, aged 50 of Meadowbank, Mylor Bridge, were both due to appear at Truro Crown Court on January 11 for a plea and directions hearing, but the case has now moved to January 22 because one of the women is isolating due to coronavirus. However, it is not clear whether this date will go ahead after two members of staff at Truro Crown Court also tested positive for coronavirus and have to isolate. A judge has requested a temporary pause on new trials for a week although it says cases will continue to be heard.
Kane Coggin and Liam Bastow were both given life for Aaron Pill s murder In a victim impact statement, his mother Caroline Johnson said she cried every day following Aaron s death on May 4. She said he was her first son and best friend and was caring and generous and would help anyone out. His death has affected me so much. He was taken away by the undertaker and I never got the chance to see him. This has happened whilst we have been trying to deal with the challenges of COVID 19 and when Aaron was in the mortuary in Exeter. We could not go and see him because of restrictions. We had to wait weeks that hurt me so much, knowing he was alone.
