The 46-year-old was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition on New Year s Day and died a short time later. Police have now arrested a fourth person in relation to the murder. They will appear in the Christchurch District Court today. A man and woman have already appeared in court charged with the murder, while another man was arrested in Southland yesterday and is also due to appear in court today.

Two 24-year-olds have appeared in court, accused of killing a 46-year-old Christchurch man 2 January 2021 The pair have been jointly charged, along with persons unknown , with murdering Kane Alan Wayman. Herald journalist Kurt Bayer was in court, and says the Judge remanded them both in custody without plea. He says police raided a Mongols Motorcycle Club property near Burnham last night in connection with the homicide inquiry. They are still searching for others who may be involved.

Police have made a third arrest in relation to the death of 46-year-old Kane Wayman in Christchurch 2 January 2021 A 41-year-old man was arrested in Southland today, and is due to appear in the Invercargill District Court on Monday charged with murder. A man and woman both aged 24, made a very short court appearance today, both facing charges of murder and both granted interim name suppression. Judge Jane McMeeken remanded them both in custody without plea to appear at the High Court in Christchurch on February 4 Scene examinations are continuing at two addresses, and the Police investigation is ongoing.
