04 COVID-19 Deaths on Thursday (15); fatalities rise to 608

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FOUR (04) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Apr. 15), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 608. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 62-year-old male from Pannipitiya. He was transferred from Colombo South Teaching Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital where he died on 12.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID-19 infection with Hepatorenal failure. 02. A 72-year-old female from Ellakkala. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus at Wathupitiwala Base Hospital and transferred to Minuwangoda Base Hospital, where she died on 14.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

03 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday (01); Fatalities rise to 571

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that THREE (03) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Apr. 01), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 571. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 80-year-old female from Katugastota. She died on 31.03.2021 while receiving treatment at Kandy National Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as lung infection and Covid pneumonia. 02. A 80-year-old male from Eheliyagoda. He was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Eheliyagoda Base Hospital and transferred to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, sepsis, and acute kidney injury.

Posted on March 16th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana Director-General of Health Services today (March 16) confirmed 02 more COVID-related fatalities in Sri Lanka. One of them is a 75-year-old woman from Kandy who died on March 15. She was transferred from Kandy National Hospital to Theldeniya Base Hospital after testing positive for the virus. The cause of death was recorded as acute COVID pneumonia. The second victim is a 59-year-old man from Negombo who died due to heart disease, COVID pneumonia, high blood pressure, acute diabetes and kidney disease. He tested positive for the virus while he was under medical care at a private hospital in Colombo. He was then moved to University Hospital of General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University where he passed away today (March 16).
