Woman says her two teen daughters were hit in south Columbia shooting
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The mother of the two teenage girls shot Wednesday night in south Columbia described the attack as a drive-by shooting.
Kandas Holmes-Barnes said her 13-year-old daughter was shot in the shoulder and mouth, causing her to swallow a bullet. She remained hospitalized Thursday waiting for reconstructive surgery. The girl s 16-year-old sister was grazed by a bullet and has been released from the hospital.
The Columbia Police Department later said in a news release that officers found the two juveniles with gunshot wounds when they got to the scene.
