Long-term outcomes of severe childhood malnutrition followed in 15-year study

Urgent action is needed to address the millions of children suffering from hunger and malnutrition worldwide, according to the authors of a study which tracked the health of children over 15 years.The findings, published in The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health, emphasise the pressing need for action to save lives short-term, but also interventions to ensure the long-term health, development and well-being of children who have survived episodes of early-life malnutrition.

Reducing newborn deaths across Africa enters

<p>The Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies (NEST360) international alliance launches Phase 2 of its mission to reduce newborn mortality in sub-Saharan Africa with $65 million in funding from the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation, the Children&rsquo;s Investment Fund Foundation, The ELMA Foundation, and generous individual contributions.</p>
