KUCHING (April 29): Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh is planning to transform the Tringgus and Gumbang area as the constituency’s coffee belt.
He said he was personally motivated to do so after seeing quite a successful ‘Mini Coffee Estate’ project at Kampung Tringgus.

KUCHING: Sarawak is on track to begin the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination programme next month, in line with its target of completing the exercise by August.
However, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said this depended on the supply of vaccines the state would receive from the Federal Government.
He said the second phase would be a massive and complex exercise, as it involved vaccinating about two million eligible and consenting adults in Sarawak.
KUALA LUMPUR: The enhanced movement control order has been imposed on Kampung Tringgus, Bau, in Kuching, Sarawak, from Monday (March 8) until March 21, following a spike in Covid-19 cases.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 596 screenings have been conducted, and 37 positive cases were recorded as of Sunday (March 7). The Health Ministry confirmed there has been a drastic spike in cases at the locality. The enhanced MCO will enable the ministry to conduct targeted screenings and control the spread of the virus in the community, he said in a statement on Sunday.
He also announced that the EMCO imposed at Kampung Tanah Merah, in Kota Marudu, Sabah, has been extended until March 22.
