KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Parents who have to cross district or state lines to send their children to school are not required to first obtain permission from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said these parents should instead only show a letter issued by the school allowing them to do so, at the police roadblock. For example, if the students are returning to their hostel, the teachers could have issued them a letter, allowing them to cross district or state,” he said at a news conference on the Movement Control Order (MCO) developments today.

BESUT: The three villages in the Pasir Akar sub-district which have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from today will be tightly guarded with concertina barbed wire installed and temporary barricades mounted along all 13 rat trails. Besut district police chief, Supt Abdul Rozak Muhammad said work to install the barbed wires involving Kampung Lepan Kejor, Kampung Darau-Awek and Kampung Padang Baloh started yesterday at 3.30pm and was expected to be completed at 7.30pm. ’’Members of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the Malaysian Volunteers Department (RELA) were involved in the work to install the barbed wires yesterday evening.
