KOTA KINABALU: A total of 251 people had to be evacuated to temporary disaster relief centres after continuous heavy rain triggered floods in three districts in Sabah.
Two temporary relief centres (PPS) in Pitas, about 170km from here, were closed Tuesday evening after the number of flood evacuees dropped to 583 from 190 families from 719 victims from 236 families recorded Tuesday morning.
The Sabah Disaster Management Committee secretariat’s statement said the two PPS closed were the ones at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pekan Pitas II and SK Rukom after all evacuees were allowed to return home
The number of flood victims evacuated to relief centres in Pitas rose sharply this morning to 719 from 236 families from only 313 from 96 families last night
KOTA KINABALU: Three temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened in Pitas to accommodate 311 evacuees from 97 families affected by floods in the area following continuous heavy rain since Sunday (Feb 6).
