KOTA KINABALU: A 70-year-old pillion rider was killed on the spot when the motorcycle he was on was involved in an accident with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Tawau on Wednesday (June 5).
BALIK PULAU: Forty children spent about half an hour on a pickup truck after floodwaters started inundating their kindergarten in Jalan Kampung Masjid, Teluk Kumbar.
KOTA KINABALU: The state government has decided to further restrict business operation hours in Tawau and Kalabakan from 9am to 5pm daily due to the worsening number of Covid-19 cases and the rate of transmissions in these two areas.
Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the restricted hours would apply to eateries, food trucks, markets, supermarkets, pet stores, petrol stations, electrical shops, car wash and e-commerce activities.
Masidi – the minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah - said this rule will be in effect until further notice.
As of Saturday (June 5), Tawau recorded the highest number of new cases in the state with a total of 58 and a death, while Kalabakan recorded two new cases.
