Policeman knocked dead, another injured at Mpigi traffic checkpoint

A speeding vehicle has knocked dead a traffic policeman and injured another critically at Kampiringisa traffic police checkpoint in Kammengo sub-county in Mpigi district.
The deceased has been identified as police constable Alex Kakose while the injured is Elias Asaya. Both the deceased and injured police officers are attached to Kammengo police station. Asaya is admitted at Mpigi health centre IV in critical condition.
Lydia Tushabe, the Katonga Region police spokesperson, says that duo was knocked this morning by a Toyota Harrier registration number UAX 542N being driven by 61-year-old Charles Tuhimbise.�
