Several high school track teams gathered in Harrison on Thursday for the Rosson Invitational. Yellville-Summit finished as the runners-up with Branson taking the win. Harrison was third, Bergman ended up eighth, Flippin took ninth place, Jasper finished 10th, Valley Springs was 11th, and Omaha ended up 12th.
On the girls’ side, Yellville-Summit got wins from Janet Ridley in the discus, Kambree Gibson in the 100-meter hurdles and Jacey Davenport in the 400-meter dash. The Panthers’ individual wins on the boys’ side came from Tyler Barrett in the shot put and the discus.

Norfork came away with one win Wednesday hosting Izard County for three basketball games in the Bobby D. Hulse Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers had the lone victory in the senior girls’ game. Norfork defeated the Lady Cougars 44-28.
Norfork did not fare as well in the senior boys’ contest, as they fell to Izard County 64-24. Caleb Faulkner led the Cougars with 13 points, Chase Orf scored 12, and Noah Everatt added 10. Izard County improves to 19-5 on the season and 11-3 in conference play.
Izard County’s junior girls clinched the 1A-2 conference championship topping Norfork 38-24. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Quinn Johnson with 20 points, and Makenzie Yancey chipped in 13. Izard County went unbeaten in seven league games this year.
