Alameda County food workers now eligible for COVID-19 vaccines
Berkeley grocery store and convenience store workers are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccines. On Monday, the city of Berkeley announced it was expanding eligibility for these workers, along with in-person educators and childcare workers, to make appointments at the Curative vaccination site in Albany. By Tuesday, all available appointment slots had been filled, but the city said more appointments could become available due to cancellations or added supplies.
Meanwhile, food and agriculture workers (including restaurant workers) in Alameda County are eligible to schedule vaccine appointments at the newly opened Oakland Coliseum vaccination site through the California Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 vaccination website.

Businesses in the Bay are putting out tribute treats for inauguration day. Oakland s famous Home of Chicken and Waffles is doing a special called The Kamala which includes a lasagna.
Koolfi Creamery in San Leandro is making a Kamala Blossom ice cream. The ice cream is missed with rare lotus seeds, rose water, and pistachios.
Kamala Harris grew up in the East Bay and will be the first female Vice President!

Bay Area businesses are showing their pride for native politician and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, who will be inaugurated this week. She s getting some special menu and food items in her honor.
OAKLAND, Calif. - Bay Area businesses are finding ways to honor the incoming Vice President Kamala Harris, an East Bay native, with special Inauguration Day treats and menu items.
At Oakland s Jack London Square, the Home of Chicken and Waffles restaurant is doing a special called the Kamala, a home-style dinner named for their favorite hometown politician. Harris is like a cousin to the restaurant s founder Derreck Johnson, who has known Harris since he was 16 years old.
