Each year, International Women s Day is a reminder of how far we still have to go to closing the gender gap and achieving gender parity.
At the same time, it s an opportunity to pay tribute to the inspirational women who are playing vital roles in our economies and societies. This year, in particular, the world is recognizing the crucial role women are playing in the ongoing recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The accused raped the minor Dalit girl after dragging her into a sugarcane field on Saturday, her father alleged.
A BJP delegation met the family members of the minor girl on Sunday afternoon.
Police have arrested all the four accused.
Meerut: In yet another incident of sexual assault reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 13-year-old girl from Dalit community was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Garh area of Hapur district on Saturday. After the incident, the situation became tense in the area as the accused belong to a minority community, police said.
