Fine for teenager who missed probation appointments

Swindon Crown Court A TEENAGER who was spared custody in 2019 for a brutal attack on a would-be soldier missed probation appointments, a Swindon court heard. But Kamal Barrow, now 19, was fined £50 after a judge heard the youngster was working long shifts at a factory and attending college courses. The young man was just 16 when he was part of a group that attacked an 18-year-old in White Eagle Road in July 2018. In late 2019, Swindon Crown Court heard the victim was kicked in the head and body. He suffered a broken cheekbone, nose and eye socket. The victim said the assault had left him briefly unable to eat as his lip would split open and the injuries quashed his dreams of joining the army.
