COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that ELEVEN (11) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Friday (Apr. 30), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 678.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A
79-year-old female from Piliyandala. She died on 30.04.2021 on admission to a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. A
76-year-old male from Dehiattakandiya. He died on 30.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Severe Heart Failure.
3. A
67-year-old female from Matale. She died on 29.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Matale District General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pulmonary Syndrome.

Eight more COVID-related deaths were confirmed in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (April 27), says the Director-General of Health Services.
The latest coronavirus victims have pushed the country’s death toll from the pandemic to 655.
According to the Government Information Department, the details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 62-year-old man from Polgolla area: He died while receiving treatment at the Kandy National Hospital on April 23. The cause of death was recorded as COVID pneumonia.
02. A 45-year-old man from Hettipola area: After testing positive for the virus, he was transferred from Kurunegala Teaching Hospital to Kandy National Hospital where he died on April 25. COVID pneumonia was recorded as the cause of death.

COLOMBO (News 1st): The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka has risen to 45,726 after 484 new cases were detected on Tuesday (Jan. 05), the Ministry of Health said.
As of Wednesday (Jan. 06), there are 7247 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, while 38,262 have recovered.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed that two COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Jan. 05).
The details of the deceased are as follows:
A 68-year-old female from Matale died on 3rd January, at the Matale District Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as a respiratory tract infection with COVID-19.
A 75-year-old female from Kalutara died on 2nd January, on admission to Kalutara General Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as blood poisoning and asthma with COVID-19 virus infection.
