Two people are facing multiple charges after a dangerous chase through Sangamon County Friday.
Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle on Bruns Lane… but say the driver refused to stop and intentionally rammed a Springfield squad car. They pursued the car north toward Cantrall, and say the driver and passenger changed places during the pursuit.
When police caught up to the vehicle, they say the suspects again intentionally steered toward officers, striking several squad cars, and intentionally drove in the wrong lane of traffic, putting other cars in danger. 29-year-old Kali Simmonds and 26-year-old Rhett Birdsell were ultimately arrested and are in the county jail.
