Hawai‘i’s fourth Youth Poet Laureate designation was presented to Miya Peterson, a high school senior at O‘ahu’s Punahou School, during a live stream event at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Thursday.
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) has announced that Hawai‘i’s fourth youth poet laureate presentations and selection of the state’s 2024 Youth Poet Laureate will be presented before a live, invitation-only student audience in Castle Theater on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m.
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center announced the selection of Corina Yi as Hawaiʻi’s third Youth Poet Laureate. She is a high school senior at Oʻahu’s Mililani High School. As part of the event, the National Youth Poet Laureate was also named, Salome Agbaroji of Los Angeles representing the Western Region.
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Hawaiʻi’s third youth poet laureate presentations on Friday, April 24, to be livestreamed from the MACC’s Castle Theater beginning at 10 a.m. on the MACC’s website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
