Missed opportunities have bedeviled the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team the past four games, but the Golden Lions still had a chance to snap down the stretch.
Simpson’s baseball team came away with a series victory over Nebraska Wesleyan, splitting their doubleheader Saturday; the Storm lost game one 6-2, but came back and won game two 6-4.
Game one was a pitching duel for the first four innings between Simpson’s Trey Castille and Nebraska Wesleyan’s Riley Ward. The momentum shifted in the top of the fifth inning when the Prairie Wolves’ Kaleb Knox hit a two-run home run to make a 3-1 game. After that, Simpson never was able to come back outside of scoring a run on a wild pitch in the sixth. Castille picked up the loss, dropping him to 2-3. Noah Sacco went three for three with a double and a run scored.
