Relatives are being flown out of Sagaing’s Kale Township while troop reinforcements are being flown into the area, which is a hotbed of civilian resistance to the regime.
The military convoy was attacked with landmines in Gangaw on Tuesday evening as civilian resistance forces step up their operations against the regime.
Civilian armed resistance groups staged 37 attacks against regime targets in Sagaing, Magwe, Tanintharyi and elsewhere on Sunday, the National Unity Government said.
