Flood Situation in Sylhet: The flood situation in Sylhet has further worsened owing to incessant rainfall since yesterday and the subsequent onrush of water from upstream, resulting in immense public sufferings.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday distributed relief materials among the victims of Cyclone Remal, after inspecting the damage by helicopter. The relief distribution programme was held at Government Mojahar Uddin Biswas Degree College at Kolapara in Patuakhali, organised by district administration.
Cyclone Remal has severely damaged 474 educational institutions in Patuakhali. Among these, 256 are government primary schools and 218 are secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and other institutions
