CM Himanta Biswa Inaugurates 28 New ICU Beds in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital(GMCH)
Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated 28 new ICU beds in GMCH apart from taking stock of Covid19 treatment facilities and other aspects of the hospital.

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated 28 new ICU beds in GMCH apart from taking stock of Covid-19 treatment facilities and other aspects of the hospital.
Talking to the newsmen on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that new ICU beds would greatly boost the treatment facilities for Covid patients and said these ICUs can also be used for treatment of non-Covid critical patients. On Sunday, 10 extra ICU beds were added in Covid Hospital at Kalapahar and in two days a total of 38 ICU beds were added in both these hospitals, he informed.

GUWAHATI: In response to an appeal to all by the Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation’s North East Chapter (JSF-NE) to urge Narendra Modi to introduce a strict population control Act through the “Mann Ki Baat” programme scheduled for next Sunday, popular actor from Assam, Aimee Baruah, on Wednesday, requested the Prime Minister to bring the law to make India a powerful nation.
Additional superintendent of Kalapahar Covid Hospital, Dr Raktim Tamuli, also advocated this law and lauded Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation for coming up with this initiative. He also stated that the rising population has already started impacting government and private hospitals in Assam, leading to insufficiency of time among doctors to check their patients.
