Capitol grounds. We saw another portion of the branch collapse as well. It is still an unstable, unstable tree. The man was pinned under a large portion of the tree for a period of time. He was given cpr. He was unconscious at the time. They got him out from under the tree and transported him to a local hospital. He is said to be in Critical Condition. Here along independence avenue, a large portion is closed to the public. A large contingent of u. S. Capitol police are investigating. There are tourists at the u. S. Capitol but they have to walk around the area. The part of independence is closed from Second Street to first street in southwest. About three or four blocks of independence avenue closed off after a large portion of the tree fell on an adult male. We dont have his identification at this point. We dont know if he was a staffer here or a tourist. It appears he was alone. He is in Critical Condition at a local hospital as the u. S. Capitol Police Continue their investigation.
