Several types of snow snake events were on display on the Lake Bemidji waterfront near Paul Bunyan Park along with prizes, food and activities for all ages.
Local artists including Thomas Stillday Jr. and an artist collective from Walpole Island First Nation were recently awarded "Art in this Present Moment" grants from the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation.

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation (NMF) has announced three new members of their Board of Directors.
• Jason Carlson: Jason lives in McIntosh and is the CEO of Tri-Valley Opportunity Council. He helps provide opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations in northwest Minnesota. He is passionate about improving the quality of life for people and communities in our region. Carlson has been a long-time supporter of NMF initiatives and is excited to help advance the work of the NMF.
• Kristi Thorfinnson: Kristi lives in Crookston and works a as the Housing Specialist Coordinator and Community Development assistant for the Northwest Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. She is involved with the federal homeless initiative, Continuum of Care, and is passionate about advancing personal, professional, and community opportunities in the region. Northwest Minnesota Foundation brings in 3 new board members
This week the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, which serves 12 counties in the region, added three new members to its board of directors.

According to a release, the new additions include:
Kaitlyn Grenier, a Bemidji resident and co-director of the Hative American nonprofit organization Manidoo Ogitigaan.
Jason Carlson, a resident of McIntosh and the CEO of Tri-Valley Opportunity Council.
Crookston resident Kristi Thorfinnson, a housing specialist coordinator and community development assistant for the Northwest Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. We are excited to welcome these new directors to our board, said Board Chair Kristin Eggerling. They bring their unique insight, perspectives and expertise to further the work of the foundation and strengthen our region.
