It’s an exclusive look into the lives of some of Northumberland’s best and brightest educators, including Dean Smith, an Indigenous education consultant.
Smith went to school at Concordia and McGill, eventually also completing a degree in teaching, he has spent about 30 years, working with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
Smith is a member of the Pictou Landing Mi’kmaq First Nation. He has been an educator for three decades, coached sports in our community, is a musician and helped to start the Kaitlyn Bates Initiative.
