The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought reports from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in the matter related to functioning of unhygienic and illegal slaughterhouses in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked open-air mobile theatres (jatra parties) to refrain from using objectionable words and performing indecent dance at the Khandagiri fair. It has advised against content that may disrupt communal harmony or offend religious sentiments.
