ROSWELL - A KRQE-TV reporter based in Roswell has been charged with three counts of impersonating a peace officer and two counts of reckless driving for incidences that occurred last year.
Corey King, 28, of the 300 block of East Lewis Street, was issued a summons Wednesday to appear in magistrate court in Chaves County on the charges, after a months-long New Mexico State Police investigation revealed several instances in which he became involved in official police business.
The investigation was conducted by New Mexico State Police Officer Kai Perez, and NMSP Agent Steven Chavez in Roswell, according to court documents.
KRQE has suspended King pending an investigation, the Albuquerque-based station reported. The station has presumably removed King s stories from its website. A search for Corey King on KRQE.com shows only one story the one about him being arrested and suspended.
