president biden announcing in brussels that the united states will accept up to 100,000 ukrainian refugees in the united states. obviously, that s a smaller number than what you re seeing happen here in europe but it s a really big number for the united states, given that s more than the total refugees in the united states that s accepted in recent years. so you are seeing, first half of this trip focused on diplomacy, unity among nato allies. you re seeing the second part of this focus on the u.s. forces that are here, nato forces that are here in eastern europe as well as focusing on these refugees and we should note, president biden is expected to come face-to-face with some of these ukrainian refugees tomorrow before he gives a major speech, kate. absolutely. kai kaitlan, thank you so much. president biden will be giving a firsthand look at some of the devastating toll putin s war is taking on ukrainian civilians. the white house says he s going to be meeting with refugees tomorr
with the omicron variant that everyone is so concerned about. and people are saying, well, if you are vaccinated, you can get-together with your family, maybe take a rapid test first. while they are relatively inexpensive, you are getting one, buying one for every member of your family and taking them often, those costs can add up. reporter: they certainly can, kai kaitlan. you really want to test pretty often, a period of time before you see them, then maybe again, then after. there s a lot of testing that goes into this. so they are had he only about $7 a pop. if you have a big family and you need to test often, that can add up. that s why the biden administration is trying to make sure so insurance companies have to pay for them. if there were easy, rapid, at-home testing that was afford bible, people really might do it. that could go a long way to curb
anxious about how passing this agenda is going to impact the midterm elections coming up when control of both chambers will be on the line. president biden was calling house members overnight in an effort to help rally some support. let s talk about these with chief white house correspondent indicate hand collins and kevin o l o leary. kai kaitlan, what is going to happen today? and is it going to happen today? we think so. what is notable, though, it s a delay again which we have seen time and time again when it comes to the house and voting on this. they were wanting to vote last night. of course that did not ultimately happen. she was working her members yesterday. president biden was working the phone. members of the cap net were working the phones. they were engaged in this all-out effort to get this done
