SARA RUBERG/THE STATESMAN In its 51st straight America East win, the Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team secured its eighth consecutive regular season championship and a spot in the America East playoffs with a 22-4 knockout over New Hampshire in Durham on Wednesday, April 28.  The offensive outburst saw the Seawolves score the most goals in a game since beating Albany 22-14 in the 2018 America East title game. Stony Brook is on fire with the playoffs around the bend, having won its ninth consecutive matchup.  Wednesday’s win also ensured that the America East tournament will be held at LaValle Stadium on Thursday, May 6 and Saturday, May 8.

On Saturday, April 3, she reminded everyone of that with seven goals tying her career high in the No. 6-ranked Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team’s 19-8 destruction of the Vermont Catamounts in Burlington. The victory was the Seawolves’ seventh straight, improving their record to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play. Stony Brook’s two losses remain against the top two ranked teams in the country.

CAMRON WANG/THE STATESMAN After their Maryland road trip, the Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team returned home to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium with a bang as the Seawolves defeated the UMass Lowell Riverhawks by a final score of 20-4 on Sunday, March 14. With 10 different goal scorers and a standout defensive front, the Seawolves thoroughly dominated on their way to the team’s 44th consecutive America East victory. “10 different goal scorers we need that,” head coach Joe Spallina said in a postgame press conference with The Statesman. “Everybody knows it can’t just be the ‘Taryn and Ally Show’ every time.”
