President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the families of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers for their losses after the Military Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed in Kaduna on Friday.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina via a statement issued and shared by Garba Shehu, another Presidential-aide via his Twitter handle.
He tweeted,
“President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply saddened over the air crash that claimed the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers.
“The President condoles with families of the deceased, the military, and Nigerians in general, describing them as ‘heroes who paid the ultimate price for peace and security in the land.’”

As Nigerians mourn the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and other senior officers in Air Force plane crash on Friday, Civil Society Organisation and human rights group, Concerned Nigerians, Saturday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to employ independent air accident experts to unravel the cause of the crash.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Convener, CN, Comrade Deji Adeyanju and made available to Vanguard.

According to Adeyanju the call became necessary following the way and manner the Air Force plane crashed close to landing at the Kaduna Airport, and the investigation should be done thoroughly by air accident experts and report made public to Nigerians.

The United States Mission in Nigeria and the Government of the United Kingdom have condoled with the Federal Government over the demise of the late Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other officers.
The U.S Missions in a tweet described the incident as a tragic loss and assured that “in spite of this devastating loss, @USinNigeria remains confident that @DefenceInfoNG leaders will continue to strive toward peace and security for all Nigerians.”
The Diplomatic Mission also offered their deepest sympathy to the families of the deceased.
“We join Nigerians in mourning the tragic loss of life from today’s plane crash. The death of the Chief of @HQNigerianArmy Staff, Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru is a tremendous loss to Nigeria and his loved ones.
