Estonia's Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) is expecting an increase in border crossings from Russia after the country lifted coronavirus restrictions related to land borders. The PPA is asking travelers to allocate more time in their schedule for crossing the border.
The north-eastern Estonian region of Ida-Viru is dropping efforts to attract tourists from Russia and will instead be promoting its attractions to Latvians, reports Estonia's ERR News.
The Ida-Viru Tourism Cluster is canceling all promotions aimed at the Russian market and instead shifting its focus to Latvian tourists. In order to fully make up for the gap left by the former, however, the Northeastern Estonian county will have to entice more Finns to visit as well.
