Around 11:30 a.m. Friday, firefighters from two counties responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Hwy. 44 in Interior. Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a fire free-burning inside a residential structure with heavy smoke and visible flames. The fire directly threatened an adjacent commercial structure, outbuildings, and an RV trailer. With winds gusting up to 30 mph., the fire spread onto the commercial structure before being halted. The commercial structure and nearby RV sustained minor damage. No injuries to civilians, domestic animals, or firefighters were reported.
