The 149-hectare new airport is one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the region. Based on the 2015 approved Feasibility Study, the said airport is designed to be a domestic airport compliant with international standards. During the visit, the team inspected the construction of the 1,500-meter by 30-meter runway.  Other facilities, such as the construction of a runway strip, taxiway, apron, passenger terminal building, and access roads will be undertaken and completed by 2026. As to project funding, P20 million was allocated for the initial site acquisition in 2015.This was undertaken by the LGU of Don Carlos, Bukidnon. In 2017, an additional funding of P34 million was provided for the said acquisition, which is currently ongoing.
