KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah vice-president Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam and secretary-general Datuk Joniston Bangkuai are set to square off for the number two post in the state's oldest party.
Two police reports have been lodged against a Facebook account holder by the name Muhammad Hafiz for allegedly insulting the KadazanDusun community, particularly in relation to the Unduk Ngadau competition and Kaamatan Festival.
The first report was filed by the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Women Council cum Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan Organising Chairperson Joanna Kitingan at the Penampang police station, here, Thursday.
She was accompanied by State Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2022 Frenerietta Sobitun and other State Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan Committee members.
In her police report, Joanna said, “We seek action from the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.”
Other previous similar reports in the post, including by the KDCA, have yet to see positive outcomes.
She said the police report was also intended to promote harmony among Sabah’s multiracial and multireligious communities
