KABUL, Dec 13 At least three people were killed when gunmen attacked a hotel popular with Chinese business people in the Afghan capital yesterday, with witnesses reporting.
Nearly 60 people, mostly girls and women, were killed when a suicide bombing ripped through an education center in Kabul on September 30. Among the victims were 18-year-olds Marzia and Hajar, childhood friends who were taking practice exams in preparation for university.
The death toll from a suicide bomb attack on an education centre in the Afghan capital last week has risen to at least 43, the United Nations mission in Afghanistan said on Monday. The attack has triggered women-led protests in Kabul and some other cities.
Around 50 women chanted, "Stop Hazara genocide, it's not a crime to be a Shiite", as they marched on Saturday in Dasht-e-Barchi neighbourhood where the attack happened. They have vowed to return to the classes.
