Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 11 (ANI): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday slammed the Maharashtra government, saying that former Aligarh Muslim University student Sharjeel Usmani has not yet been arrested for his objectionable comments during a recent Elgar Parishad event. It is the biggest shocker that Sharjeel Usmani is yet to be arrested but demanding his arrest our worker was detained from his house, he said.
A case was registered against Usmani in Pune for allegedly delivering a controversial speech at the Elgaar Parishad event in Pune on January 30.

Lucknow: In serious trouble for Sharjeel Usmani, a former student of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), an FIR under several charges, including sedition, has been registered at Hazratganj Police Station in Uttar Pradesh. The FIR was filed by a local in connection with Usmani’s speech at the Elgar Parishad conclave in January 2021. Sections pertaining to sedition, promotion of enmity between communities, malicious attempt to outrage religious feelings, threatening have been slapped against the ex-AMU student.

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], February 4 (ANI): After a case was registered against a former Aligarh Muslim University student in Maharashtra for allegedly delivering a controversial speech at a conclave in Pune, one of the organisers of the event, Retd Justice Kolse Patil said that they pointed it out on stage when the Sharjeel Usmani had used the word Hindu instead of Manuwadi .

LUCKNOW: A case has been registered against Sharjeel Usmani at Lucknow s Hazratganj Police Station in connection with his controversial speech at Elgar Parishad, in Pune Maharashtra, the police said on Thursday.
A person named Anurag Singh from Lucknow has filed an FIR over the video of Usmai s speech which was posted on YouTube. On the basis of this complaint, a case under 124A, 153A, 153A (2), 153B (1) (C), 295A, 298, 504, 505 (1) (B) and 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and IT Act has been registered, police said.
