Minister of Infrastructure, Hon. Claver Gatete accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer and the Deputy Executive Officer of Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC) visited Kigali Bulk Water Project, made of Kanzenze Water Treatment Plant and its Forwarding Infrastructure, to witness the start of operation for Kanzenze Water Treatment Plant.
The Kigali Bulk Water Supply Project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) which involves extracting groundwater from the south bank of the Akagera River, build and operate a 40,000 m3/day treatment plant, then supply 30,000 m3/day to Kigali and 10,000 m3/day to Bugesera. This PPP is a 25-year Concession Agreement.
