In 2019, the BPI removed the International Group category as part of their changes for the 2020 Brit Awards in the hopes of making the awards more streamlined.
However, the decision to remove the category did not sit well with a few of BTS s fans as it meant the group would no longer have a chance at winning in the awards show.
In addition, the awards show had also removed all of the fan-voted categories, making plenty of music fans disappointed. Now that the category has been reinstated and with BTS s nomination confirmed, fans of the group celebrate another milestone.
Usually scheduled in February, the Brit Awards will be held at the O2 Arena in London on May 11 after being delayed due to COVID-19.
