Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The constituency spans three districts: Pudukkottai, Virudhunagar, and Ramanathapuram, encompassing six assembly segments: Aranthangi, Tiruchuli, Paramakudi (reserved), Tiruvadanai, Ramanathapuram, and Mudukulathur. These segments are predominantly represented by either the DMK or Congress. The influential demographic groups include the Mukkulathors (30%), Dalits (25%), and Muslims (17%), along with the Thevars.
The DMK gave the seat to the Indian Union Muslim League in 2019. IUML candidate K Navas Kani is sitting MP from the seat and has been fielded again by the DMK-IUML.
