Estonia's Jüri Vips (Hitech) recorded his first victory of the season in the sprint race during round 13 of the FIA Formula 2 World Championship in Monza, Italy. Despite being forced to retire from the race, Brazil's Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport) was crowned world champion, after nearest rival Theo Pourchaire (ART) of France failed to finish amongst the points.
Formula 1 team Red Bull appears to have ended its association with Estonian reserve and test driver Jüri Vips, who was at the center of a racism scandal in June. Red Bull's junior driver program manager Helmut Marko, announced that Vips no longer receives any support from Red Bull.
The Hitech F2 team has confirmed that Jüri Vips will continue representing the team until the end of the current season. Vips' contract with F1 team Oracle Red Bull was terminated earlier this week following an investigation into the Estonian driver's use of offensive language during a live-streamed online video game.
